The whole Kursi pastorate is a complex with historical value – an example of a former parish centre preserved in its original form. Pastorates where the centres where literacy, education and ethical principles were spread from. Kursi is the only place in Estonia where the whole complex of the pastorate buildings has been preserved: the pastorate and its outbuildings, which are still used by the congregation. The pastorate, which was constructed in the year 1817, is a timber building with double log walls, two mantel chimneys and a half-hipped roof. In the vicinity of the pastorate there is the hunting palace of count Manteuffel, the patron of Kursi Church.
